Holt Hill Family Session | Stephanie Clement Photography | Andover MA

Can't beat a beautiful spring evening walking to the top of Holt Hill!  When this mom wanted to bring her family up there for their session, I knew that it would be a special one. Mom's goal was to have a portrait of each of her trio and then finish the session lifestyle fashion.  With 3 children under 6, it's all about playing so this worked out perfectly.

Once we got past the "are we there yet", "I'm thirsty" and "I need to go to the bathroom" stuff, we started with individual kid portraits on some rocks by the trees.  With little ones who love to run and play, giving them something to sit on or lean against helps to keep them focused for a few minutes.

After I knew we had the individual portraits that mom wanted, we moved out to the beautiful lush green fields at the top of the hill for some family photos.  We were all about the fun - we played some games, the kids and I had some special secrets we kept from mom and dad - making it fun keeps the kid engaged in what we're doing and allows us to capture some pure and natural family interactions.

Next we went back to photographing the kids together.  First we made some dandelion wishes and lastly played on the solstice stones.  They loved seeing the directions on the stones and telling time by standing on the top pillar.  You can see in the one image that we're all pointing North :).
